Ich war die Tage etwas faul und bin gerade dabei, hier einige Tabs zu schließen, die ich eigentlich nicht schließen wollte, bevor ich sie hier drin habe. So wie diese Sanduhr, „inspired by Zen Gardens“.
Within a spacetime continuum, time is perceived as the fourth dimension. The past the present and the future is a whole. Ripples of Time, allow natural materials to be shaped by time, reminding us of its presence.The installation consists of two complimentary clocks; Sand and Water. Sand, inspired by Zen Gardens, is the gradual formation and flattening of a ripple pattern over a period of twelve hour cycles. Water, on the other hand, tells the ephemeral time through concentric circles in the form of endless waves that ripple by the second.It is the landscapes and the cycles found in nature, that both the projects represents.

Ich trag ja keine Uhren, trug ich noch nie. Aber diese Uhr, die gleichzeitig ein Ring ist, würde ich mir schon auf den Finger stecken. Die Ringclock ist aus Stahl, kommt mit LEDs, Ladestation und ist wohl auch wasserdicht. Die Indiegogo-Kampagne hat fast $400.000 eingesammelt und man kann das Teil für $265.00 vorbestellen. Teurer als Modeschmuck, aber der leuchtet einem ja auch keine Uhrzeit.

Ich hatte hier vor ein paar Wochen eine ferrofluide Uhr.
Offenbar scheinen sich dieser Thematik aktuell mehrere Leute anzunehmen, so das auch Designer Damjan Stankovic an einer solchen gewerkelt hat. Rhei heißt seine Uhr und sieht mindestens genauso gut aus, wie die vor ein paar Wochen. Ich möchte bitte so eine.

Montags. Der allwöchentliche Hangover zieht sich mindestens bis in den Abend hinein, die Stunden im Büro können da schon mal quälend sein. Dachte sich wohl auch die griechische Design-Bude Studio NL und hat wohl einen Schreibtisch entwickelt, der mit einer Schlaffläche ins Büro kommt.
Na dann Sweet Dreams auch im Büro. Ab Dienstag wird dann wieder am Tisch gesessen.
A Greek design company called Studio NL has designed a desk that is made for taking naps at work. The desk is called the Nap Desk and when closed up it looks like a normal desk. You can fold the side down to give you a sleeping platform and then drop the end open a bit for more room. Tall folks need not apply.

Manche Dinge sind so naheliegend, dass man sich wundern darf, warum auf diese nicht schon längst erfunden sind. So wie bei diesem Kerzenhalter des norwegischen Designers Lars Beller Fjetland, der die Kerze einfach dann löscht wenn sie fast runtergebrannt ist. Endlich auch bei Kerzenlicht einschlafen.
Most of us can recall a childhood fascination with the flickering flame – mesmerized by the rhythm of the burning light; the concept of time seemed to slowly dissolve. Lars Beller’s «Moment» candle extinguisher revisits this lost meditative watch with an added reminder of its impermanence. As the flame slowly makes its way towards the bottom of the candle, the suspense builds towards its split second finale.
