Und wo wir gerade bei LoFi-Sound waren, kommt doch heute, so wie in jedem meteorlogischen Quartal, just die neue Chillhop Essentials: Summer 2018. Down- und Dopebeats und das alles ziemlich LoFi. Wie immer zum Name-your-price-Download, wie immer ziemlich geil.

Summer starts on its warmest notes this year!
For this years Chillhop Essentials Summer compilation, we gathered 30 artists on our boat to share their best Summer treats.
We had a great mix of classic artists as well as newcomers diving in for this collection. This selection of songs is by far our most eclectic and innovative one to date.

Winterwaldspaziergang zu Dopebeats, Nu Jazz und HipHop: Suhov – Night Beat

Suhov hat die Winterschuhe angezogen und ist für seine „Night Beats“ eine Stunde im verschneiten Wald spazieren gegangen. Später hat er dazu Dopebeats, Nu Jazz, instrumentalen und nicht instrumentalen HipHop auf die Bilder gemixt. Und ich muss sagen, dass ich mittlerweile echt ein bisschen Fan von seinem Konzept bin, seine Mixe zu visualisieren. Ist halt so, als würde man mit diesem Sound auf den Kopfhörern durch den Wald laufen.

Während des Kalenders ist hier generell wenig Platz für andere Musik, aber dieses kleine winterliche Kunstwerk will ich schon dennoch mit drin haben. Bei Mixcloud auch ohne Video und zum Download. Lädt.

Neue Jahreszeit, neue Compilation vom Dopebeat-Dealer Chillhop. Das Amsterdamer Label hat auch dafür wieder feinste instrumental HipHop-Perlen auf eine Kette gefedelt und bietet die VÖ zum Name-your-Price-Download bei Bandcamp an. Gekauft.

Rekall mixt Gramatik in 59 Minuten

Rekall hat sich dem Schaffen von Gramatik gewidmet und dessen Produktionen in 59 Minuten gegossen. Das wirkt in den Übergängen harmonisch mitunter etwas unsensibel und hin und wieder ein Ticken zu laut. Wer die Nu Jazz Sounds des Slowenen mag, dürfte hieran dennoch wahrlich seine Freude haben. Geiles Zeug!

LoFi HipHop Radio-Stream auf Youtube – Beats to relax/study to

Keine Ahnung, warum man auf die Idee kommt, einen Radio-Stream auf Youtube zu hosten, aber die Leute von ChilledCow machen das halt einfach mal so. Scheint zu funktionieren, aktuell hören über 7800 Leute zu. Ich bin einer davon, denn der Sound entspricht ganz genau meiner Definition von Dopebeats. Schönes Zeug. Und ich habe keine Ahnung, bis wann dieser Stream live laufen wird.

Paul „Morcheeba“ Godfrey mixt „Mor Trip Hop“

Paul Godfrey, Mitbegründer der einst gar nicht so unpopulären Kombo Morcheeba, mixt sich hier in 100 Minuten durch in die damals auch nach außen glänzenden Zeiten des Trip Hop. Dieser Sound war nie wirklich tot und erfährt aktuell unter der Bezeichnung „Instrumental HipHop“ eine kleine Renaissance. Bandcamp ist voll mit derartigem Sound, der dafür, allerdings, an die heutigen Produktionsmöglichkeiten angepasst wurde und deshalb sehr viel frischer klingt. Ich habe in den letzten Jahren für nichts anderes soviel Geld auf Bandcamp gelassen, wie eben für jenen „Instrumental HipHop“. Früher klang das halt so und wurde „Trip Hop“ genannt. Bis heute geiles Zeug, wie ich finde. Dope Beats! Beides. Ganz egal, wie man die damals nennen mochte oder heute nennen mag.
