Endlich mal wieder ein Mix, der einzig aus Produktionen besteht, an denen Bob Marley beteiligt war. Da kann mich der Montag glatt mal am Töffel tuten. Gemischt hat diese 106 Minuten Frieder D.

Roots Rockers Sound – Studio One Session (2002)

Ich habe keine Ahnung, was an dem hiermit vertriebenen Mythos dran ist, dass dieses Tape, welches im Jahre 2002 vom Roots Rockers Soundsytem eingespielt wurde, auch verschwunden sein sollte, aber ich mag so was ja.

Von Vinyl auf MiniDisc aufgenommen, zwei mal 45 Minuten. Gemastert, auf Kassetten überspielt und unter den Leuten verteilt. Lange verschollen, jetzt wieder aufgetaucht und digitalisiert: der legendäre Roots Rockers Sound „Studio One Session“ Mix von 2002!

Nun jedenfalls ist es im Netz gelandet. Drölf Klassiker, die anno duz im Studio One aufgenommen wurden und in Teilen auch noch Jahre später gut genug waren, um die Popkultur im Gesamten aufzumischen. Dabei mag ich die alle schon sehr gerne im Original. Ja. Hab ich heute mindestens 8 mal durchlaufen lassen.

Was ich eigentlich sagen wollte: Studio One Mix. Ja, man! Kaboom.

Ich habe lange nichts mehr von den digitalen 8-Bit Reggae Rebellen aus Leipzig hier im Blog gehabt. Es trifft sich also bestens, dass die bei schönstem Sonnenschein einen frischen DJ-Mix für Clash Music abgeliefert haben. Dieser besteht einzig aus den letzten Veröffentlichungen des eigenen Labels, Jahtari. Und ihr wisst ja, auf dem Off-Beat Piano immer schön die Knie einknicken. Ja, man!

Der englische Techno-Veteran Ben Sims kramt sich für diesen 90-minütigen Mix durch seine 7″-Vinylkisten und schiebt genau 50 seiner liebsten Dub- und Roots-Tunes ineinander. Die perfekte akustische Sportzigarette für einen frühen Samstagnachmittag. Ja, man!

Digging deep into the bass heavy selection with this podcast, featuring many of my fave roots cuts (most coming off original JA 7″s, so excuse the authentic crackle!), all lovingly mixed up with their versions, traditional sound system dub sirens and Roland space echo a plenty.

Wenn Reggae es mit Dubstep treibt: DJ Al Corino – The Original Dubsteppa Part One

Da ist herrlich fieses Geballer bei, welches manchmal schon kurz einen über die Grenze zum Gefiedel-Step gucken lässt (bisschen cheesy ist es auch mitunter), aber ich will da heute nicht so sein, drehe die 3KW-Anlage bis kurz vor rotem Ausschlag auf und werde mich theoretisch auf ein Pädagogik-Angebot vorbereiten, was sehr pädagogisch sein wird. Da passt das.

DJ Al Corino kreuzt hierfür sehr konsequent den Reggae mit dem Dubstep und das passt selbstredend wie der Arsch auf den bekannten Eimer. Technisch über auch nur jeden kleinsten Zweifel erhaben. Und weil er davon noch viel mehr Tunes in der Tasche hat, ist das hier erst der Auftakt einer Trilogie. Und was für einer. Boom.
