Seit über 5 Jahren zieht man bei More Than Just Parks durch Amerikas Nationalparks und Wälder, um dort die Schönheit der Natur für Videos in Ultra-HD festzuhalten. Jeder der Kurzfilme ist nur drei bis vier Minuten lang, was allerdings reicht, um zu zeigen, wie schön die Welt da draußen ohne Menschen ist.

Ein KommentarIn ihrem Kurzfilm „ Voice Above Water “ besucht die in San Francisco lebende Regisseurin Dana Frankoff den 90-jährigen Fischer Wayan in seinem Haus auf Bali und begleitet ihn bei seiner täglichen Routine, die nicht mehr das Fischen sondern das Einsammeln von Plastikmüll ist.
VOICE ABOVE WATER is the story of a 90-year-old Balinese fisherman who can no longer fish because of the amount of plastic pollution in the ocean, instead he collects trash in hopes of being able to fish again. The story is a glimpse into how one human is using his resources to make a difference and a reminder that if we all play our part we can accomplish something much greater than ourselves.

Having the ultra-secretive North Korea as a subject imposed many obstacles whilst capturing the images due to restricted movements and constant supervision. Through these images and sounds, we look to evoke and shed light at the tense atmosphere of a country that looks displaced in time and space.

People don’t think of tadpoles as being photogenic, but when you take the time to look at their features, they’re actually very cute. They have a permanent smile on their face that you form an instant connection with. Witnessing their journey each day, there’s a strong emotional bond I can’t help but feel.
