Niklas hat in Winnenden mit seiner Wasserorgel eine Installation gebaut, die Wasserfontänen in die Luft bringt, wenn Leute interaktiv eine Midi-Tastatur bedienen. Das ist im städtischen Raum schon ein bisschen was Feines, käme aber auf den Festivals im Sommer noch sehr viel geiler.
Einen Kommentar hinterlassenThe „Wasserorgel von Winnenden“ is a musical fountain, powered by eight pressure washers and controlled by an electronic keyboard. Passers-by are invited to play some tunes on the keyboard and the Wasserorgel responds with a magical water and light show. The machine memorizes each keystroke and repeats random melody fragments, when nobody is interacting with it.
Keine Ahnung, ob „Wasserkäfer“ im biologischen Sinne den hier im Englischen „Water Bugs“ entsprechen, aber darum geht es auch nur am Rande.
Der Backpacker Amy Lippus saß neulich in der kalifornischen Kaiser Wilderness an einem See, auf dem hunderte Insekten saßen. „Water Bugs“, „Wasserkäfer“ oder was auch immer. Immer wenn Amy „Hey“ rief, jedenfalls, reagierten die Insekten auf dem Wasser. Und wenn er nochmal „Hey“ rief reagierten sie wieder. Und wieder und wieder.
The insect reacting to the shout is the Water Boatman (Corixidae). The lake has very few, if any, fish in it, so a huge population of water bugs, mostly Corixidae (from what we could see). For whatever reason, the ones that happen to be on the surface when we shout shoot forward rapidly when they hear a loud voice. The ones that are underwater don’t react at all. They don’t react to a clap. The only thing that got a reaction out of them was shouting. They seemed to prefer “Hey!” You could actually “see” the speed of sound by watching their reaction propagate across the lake.
