Ein Haus auf dem Mond aus dem 3D-Drucker

Steile Kiste. Die ESA untersucht wohl schon länger, ob es technisch tatsächlich möglich wäre, auf dem Mond ein Haus von einem überdimensionierten 3D-Drucker „bauen“ zu lassen. Offenbar ginge das grundsätzlich. Sollte das Teil dann irgendwann mal auf dem Mond bezugsfertig sein, könnte der Drucker auch gerne bei mir vorbeikommen, ich nehm‘ dann auch so eins im Garten.

Timelapse von der ISS

Esa-Astronaut Alexander Gerst hat während seinem Aufenthalt auf der ISS allerhand Timelapse-Videomaterial zusammengetragen, was gestern in Form dieses Videos auf YouTube veröffentlicht wurde. Nice.

Combining 12 500 images taken by Alexander during his six-month Blue Dot mission on the International Space Station this Ultra High Definition video shows the best our beautiful planet has to offer.

Marvel at the auroras, sunrises, clouds, stars, oceans, the Milky Way, the International Space Station, lightning, cities at night, spacecraft and the thin band of atmosphere that protects us from space.

Often while conducting scientific experiments or docking spacecraft Alexander would set cameras to automatically take pictures at regular intervals. Combining these images gives the timelapse effect seen in this video.

Supercut: Cinema Space Tribute

Spaciger Supercut von Max Shishkin der sich dafür dutzende Filme genommen hat und die Weltraumszenen bildlich miteinander kombinierte. Beginnend mit Kubricks „2001: A Space Odyssey“ aus dem Jahr 1968 schiebt er sich durch die Filmgeschichte, um beim 2014er Interstellar anzukommen. Nice.
