Eine ganz herrlich bummelige Angelegenheit, die Madmoiselle da für den Cuddle Cast zusammengeschraubt hat. Eigentlich Musik, die für eine morgendliche Kuschelrunde im Bett gedacht ist, die aber hier heute bei schönstem Sonnenschein auch ganz wunderbar auf dem Fahrrad funktioniert. Der Winter ist vorbei.

We have been scouting for the perfect Sunday morning sets for quite a while already and while „Eigentlich heissen wir Klaus“ & „Mattmosphere“ have been steady suppliers of them for us, we also developed the idea of asking befriended artists to record one hour of music, to which they like to stay in bed with a loved one.
It’s an intimate ask, but most of them said yes.
Der YT-Channel Lucid Rhythms macht gerne Live-Streams und experimentiert in diesen mit Polyrhythmen zu ambienten Klangbildern. Wer hier mitliest, weiß, dass ich Fan von beidem bin. Die meisten kennen wahrscheinlich noch die Sounds, die Datasetten beim Laden von sich gaben und die so gar nichts mit Musik zu tun hatten. A Last Picture From Voyager dürfte nicht der erste sein, der sie samplet, um daraus Musik zu machen, aber ich mag die Art, wie er seine Videos gestaltet – und den Sound mag ich auch.
Einen Kommentar hinterlassenI found old computer tapes from my wife’s grandfather. He used these tapes to calculate area, lenghts, prices … in houses construction mid / late 70’s. That was the time of computers using magnetic tapes to store informations. I was curious to listent to the sound of data, and if it was possible to make music with it.

First through the barn doors is music producer Neal Fraser, aka The Mad Professor. Neal is credited for his pioneering work establishing a music genre in the 70s and 80s known as dub, and he’s brought the very machine he created that distinctive sound with. The electronic sound effect machine was last working back in 1984, and Neal would love to make music with it again.
