Sehr schöne Stop-Motion-Arbeit von Animationskünstler Guldies, der das Dingen auf seinem Schreibtisch im Schlafzimmer gebaut hat.

After months of hard work GOING FISHING is finally here. I have never worked so hard. The animation is filled to the brim with new stuff I’ve never tried before. I animated with branches and leaves, paper, clay, fabric, fishing lures, forks and stones and moss and EVERYTHING I could think of.

Verlassene Pianos

Romain Diery fährt durch die Welt und fotografiert jede Menge verlassener Orte. Bei seinen Streifzügen hat er ein Objekt besonders häufig vor die Linse bekommen: Pianos aller Couleur.

He said: “The series is a project that is really close to my heart. At first people always wonder whether they are paintings or photographs. I try to make the atmosphere very peaceful and the textures and light as natural as possible. People tell me they feel immersed as if they can hear some notes of the music still. I am often asked why the piano but this instrument has been with me since I was very young and as a piano teacher is an integral part of my life today.”

Titan schmieden

Schon ein bisschen faszinierend. Wie ein großer, dicker Klumpen Knete. Nur halt Titan – und bisschen heißer.

Titanium forgings are highly required in different fields like the chemical, petrochemical, automotive and aeronautical industry. The fused product (ingot) doesn’t have optimal mechanical features when purchased. For this reason, through the forging process, it is hot worked and transformed in other forms. We carry many compressed, large Titanium forgings, including forged bar, shafts, rings, discs, sleeves, and block. Titanium forgings offer a level of durability that cannot be achieved through casting or machining.

52 animierte Loops aus dem letzten Jahr

Philip Lück hatte es sich zur Aufgabe gemacht, im Jahr 2017 jeden Donnerstag einen animierten Loop zu veröffentlichen. All diese CGI-Kreationen (wenn er jeden Donnerstag eine geschafft hat, müssten es 52 sein) hat er jüngst unter dem Titel „Infinite Worlds“ als Sammlung veröffentlicht. Und da sind ziemlich geile Sachen bei.

I made an overall of more than 50 loops, in other words one for each week.

Since I didn’t just want to create random loops I tried myself to focus on a new set of tools or principles in motion design for each week. This more or less successful approach can be found down below. I also created a short compilation of all my loops in one video, so make sure to check this out as well.

Eine Qualle wie ein Feuerwerk: Halitrephes Jelly

Die Leute von Nautilus Live haben pünktlich zum neuen Jahr 1225 Meter tief vor der mexikanischen Küste eine Qualle aufnehmen können, die aussieht wie ein Feuerwerk: Halitrephes Jelly. Ohne das auf sie strahlendes Licht, ist die Qualle im Dunkel der Tiefsee allerdings nicht zu sehen. Wunderschön.

We’re starting this year with deep sea fireworks, and a spirit of exploration! When something remarkable floats by in the middle of sampling operations, our team quickly switches gears to marvel and document.

The frilled tentacles of the Halitrephes maasi jelly came into view at 1225m in the Revillagigedo Archipelago off Baja California, Mexico. Radial canals that move nutrients through the jelly’s bell form a starburst pattern that reflects the lights of ROV Hercules with bright splashes of yellow and pink–but without our lights this gelatinous beauty drifts unseen in the dark.

Peter Karpov‏ packt 360 geometrische Teile in einen Kreis und bewegt sie. Ich war in Geometrie immer gut und weiß dennoch nicht genau, worum es ihm hier geht, aber es sieht hypnotisch aus. Und deshalb großartig. Hier noch mehr davon.
