Captain Phil with River Ventures was snorkeling in Homosassa, Florida when one manatee in particular approached him – and went directly for his beard. He captured underwater video showing the manatee’s snout nuzzling against his facial hair, and even grabbing hold of a few strands.
River Ventures officials said the endearing encounter occurred on February 2, but urged others to know that while Citrus County is a place where humans can interact with manatees, they must do so “passively.”
