Ich hatte hier vor zweit Tagen das Programm von Stupot McDoodlepip, mit dem er auf simple Weise aus GIFs Daumenkinos macht. Das GIF dazu war schon schön meta. Jetzt aber hat irgendwer ein GIF aus dem GIF gemacht, das zeigt wie aus einem GIF ein Daumenkino wird. GIFception galore! Großartig!

Der ZERA Food Recycler macht innerhalb von 24 Stunden aus den in der Küche anfallenden Bio-Abfällen einen Dünger, der sofort im Garten genutzt werden kann. Erst finanziert durch eine Crowdfunding-Kampagne ist später ein Weißwarenhersteller mit eingestiegen, das Teil in die Welt zu tragen. Mit $1000 Dollar ist das kein billiges, die Idee aber ist dennoch großartig, wie ich finde.

In the film, British journalist Vivien Goldman takes us through all the iconic record shops like Randy’s and Rockers International, pressing plants and speaks to local DJ’s and musicians on how a culture so rooted in records has found itself in helpless decline.
“Jamaica had so many studios, outstanding studios, pressing plants, small producers and big producers, who were able to capture this whole spirit of the people in the grooves of these records,” explains Herbie Miller. “This is the industry is the biggest calling card for this country.”

Ich hatte vor Jahren auf meiner damaligen Ausweichdomain mal über Benny Hofers mechanischen Sequenzer Bam Bam geschrieben, den der sich zusammengebastelt hat. Damals war Bam Bam ein rein akustisches Instrument, das mittlerweile um jede Menge Elektronik erweitert wurde. EB.TV hat ihn jetzt mal besucht und ihn über Bam Bam sprechen lassen. Immer noch ein wirklich geiles Gerät.
Einen Kommentar hinterlassenIn Utah kam es aufgrund von winterlichem Wetter zu einem Unfall, bei dem ein Nahverkehrszug in den Anhänger eines Paket-LKWs krachte. Dieser zerbrach dabei. Die Ampelanlage funktionierte wohl nicht ordnungsgemäß. Der Fahrer des LKWs kam mit einem Schrecken davon, 80 Passagiere im Zug erlitten leichte Verletzungen.

Im Jahr 1937 schrieb Ernest Hemingway ein Cocktailrezept für schlechte Zeiten nieder. Die Mixtur nannte er Death in the Gulf Stream. Offenbar fühlte er sich während einer wirtschaftlichen Rezession in den USA und dem Unheil der Welt in dieser Zeit dazu bemüssigt. Man sollte den Drink allerdings erst ab 11:00 Uhr zu sich nehmen.
