Einige funktionsfähige Modelle lassen sich noch heute auf eBay finden.

Die Veröffentlichungsoffensive von Boards Of Canada nimmt Fahrt auf. Letzten Monat verschickten die schottischen Downbeat-Ikonen ein mysteriöses VHS-Band an Fans. Dann tauchten weltweit Plakate mit ihrem Logo auf, sie teilten einen Ausschnitt neuer Musik und kündigten schließlich offiziell „Inferno“ an, ihr erstes neues Album seit „Tomorrow’s Harvest“ aus dem Jahr 2013. Heute gibt es nun die erste richtige Singleauskopplung. Ich finde, dass die Woche deutlich schlechter enden könnte.
„Introit“ und „Prophecy At 1420 MHz“ sind eigentlich zwei separate Tracks auf dem Album – genauer gesagt, die ersten beiden. „Introit“ ist ein kurzes, 36-sekündiges Intro, und bei „Prophecy At 1420 MHz“ geht es dann richtig los.

Eine herkömmliche Kompaktkassette misst 10 x 6,5 cm. David Picciuto von Make Something hat diese riesige Holzkassette geschaffen, die etwa 15-mal so groß ist. Er fertigte die 13,6 kg schwere Kassette aus Sperrholz, lasergeschnittenen Furnieren, einem Acrylglasfenster, 3D-gedruckten Tonbandspulen und einer Stoffschlaufe. Dazu würde ich jetzt gerne noch einen passenden Rekorder sehen wollen.
