Neulich (nicht) im Kino

Ich erinnere mich gut an den Abend im Kino, an dem wir in der letzten Reihe die Schlacht um Helms Klamm
sahen. Alles schien verloren, bis Gandalf mit 2000 Rohirrim über den Berg geritten kam. Wir sprangen aus unseren Sesseln und jubelten wie andere beim Fußball. Die Leute vor uns drehten sich um und guckten etwas irritiert. Für uns ein damals völlig natürlicher emotionaler Moment, der so schon mal vorkommen kann. So wie hier, auch wenn das ein Fake ist.

Youxin Ye repariert seit über 25 Jahren Leica Kameras. Irgendwann hat er erkannt, dass er aus seiner anfänglichen Leidenschaft auch einen Job machen könnte. Dieses Portrait zeigt auf sehr schön Weise, wie es dazu kam.

As vintage film cameras and lenses have seen a resurgence in recent years, the number of professionals who can repair and restore these gems is rapidly declining. Youxin Ye and his wife Wen are two of the last of these masters. They breathe new life into decades-old cameras and lenses and elevate the work from a science to an art.

Im September komm mit „Moonage Daydream“ ein Film über das Leben und das Schaffen von David Bowie in die Kinos. Den offiziellen Teaser gibt es seit gestern auf YouTube und ich denke, ich werde mir „Moonage Daydream“ ansehen. Geht ja gar nicht anders.
