Kraftklub – Schief in jedem Chor

Bei mir ist ja so, dass sich manche Musik überlebt und dann irgendwie egaler wird, als sie mir eigentlich mal war. Und dann gibt es Kraftklub, die eigentlich schon immer mit allem geil waren. So auch jetzt – neues Album, neue Tour: Sterben in Karl Marx Stadt. Ich freu mich aufs Album und bin nachher mal eben Tickets kaufen. Endlich ist die Welt schlecht genug für ein neues Kraftklub Album. So lang noch einer FICKT EUCH ALLE! schreit… Auf alles scheißen fällt einem leichter zu zweit. Fühl mich komplett abgeholt. Aber jetzt erst mal Techno im Park.

Ein Fixie für unter 70 Euro bauen

Das Video ist schon etwas älter und ich habe jetzt nicht die aktuellen Preise für Fahrradteile gecheckt. Ich muss auch gar kein Fixie haben, ich habe meine komplette Kindheit auf einem verbracht und bin sehr froh drum, heute eine Schaltung haben zu können. Ich mag es einfach anderen dabei zuzusehen, wie die alte Fahrräder erst auseinandernehmen, um sie dann wieder zusammenzubauen. Mache ich nämlich selber auch ganz gerne.

Installation eines garstigen Roboterhundes

Das ist creepy.

Japanese artist Takayuki Todo has created an installation featuring a robot dog chained to a pole, and programmed it to attack passing visitors.

According to Todo, “In this crude exhibit, some may feel it’s abusive, pitiful, or even repulsive. I believe it’s important to reflect on that reaction—because in that moment, we’re seeing a man-made object as something alive.”

The Cast of Buena Vista Social Club: Tiny Desk Concert

Für einige von euch dürfte heute sowas wie Freitag sein und ich finde, diesen Umstand könnte man musikalisch nicht passender rahmen als mit dem Tiny Desk Concert des Cast of Buena Vista Social Club. Auch wenn das hiesige Wetter dazu heute so gar nicht passen will. Trotzdem toll.

Based on real-life events and people, Buena Vista Social Club features many characters and lots of great Cuban music. It takes such skill to reflect music of a bygone era, even more to sound fresh and vibrant night after night for months at a time. Scaled down for the Tiny Desk, the show is no less magical.

Before it was a Broadway musical racking up Tony Award nominations, the Buena Vista Social Club was a second chance. After the Cuban Revolution, many of the country’s beloved musicians were lost to time, but in 1996, an ensemble was formed to reclaim their spotlight. To tell their story, the musical goes back and forth between the 1940s and the recording sessions that produced a masterpiece.

Ich weiß nicht genau warum, aber ich gucke mir das jetzt schon länger an als dass ich die Zeit dazu hätte. Honigsüße Nostalgiemomente – und das nicht wegen Windows. Wohl eher deshalb weil ich damals mehr Zeit mit dem Spiel verbracht habe, als dass ich diese dafür gehabt hätte. Ich sehe da Parallelen. Der Sound riecht nach alten verrauchten Kneipen.

3D Pinball for Windows – Space Cadet is one of the greatest and top renown video games of all time. It came with several versions of Windows, most notably Windows 2000 and Windows XP.

Kermit mit einer inspirierenden Rede vor dem Abschlussjahrgang 2025 der University of Maryland und weißt in dieser darauf hin, dass sein Schöpfer Jim Henson und seine Frau Jane beide Absolventen der Universität und Fans der Maryland Terrapins waren. Kermit ermutigte die Studierten darin, sich bewusst zu sein, dass keiner alleine da stehen muss.

Now there is no guarantee that the show is always good or that it’ll go off without a hitch or it doesn’t have its hecklers. But the show must go on and if you’re with your people then you won’t have to do it alone. Because life is not a solo act. No it’s not.It’s a big messy delightful ensemble piece especially when you’re with your people. These are friends that you might have for your whole life and there will be many others to collect along the way.

Wenn ihr mal einen nicht ganz so guten Tag habt, klickt ihr auf Owls in Towels. Da gibt es allerhand Fotos von Eulen. In Handtüchern. Und dann geht es gleich schon wieder etwas besser.

Wildlife rehabilitators often wrap owls in fabric so they can be weighed, treated, and fed. If not, the owls get in a flap.
