Wo wir gerade bei Plattenspielern sind. Auf eBay wurde gestern ein originales DJ-Deck aus den 60ern rausgehauen. Samt Turntables und Mixer wurde es für schlappe £4,199 verkauft. Genau das Richtige für jeden Vinyl-Fundi.

Technics hat die Tage 300 Plattenspieler des neuen, auf 1200 Stück limitierten, SL-1200GAE zum Preis von $3.300 rausgehauen. Diese waren nach eigenen Angaben nach 30 Minuten verkauft. Offenbar ist die Liebhaberei in dem Fall größer als die Angst vor der vom Konto abgehenden Summe. Die restlichen 900 SL-1200GAE gehen wohl in den internationalen Vertrieb. Wer Bock auf eine Wertanlage hat, könnte über einen Kauf nachdenken.
The company began accepting orders or its SL-1200GAE model at 10:00 a.m. Within 30 minutes, buyers had snapped up the entire domestic run of 300 units, priced at lofty 356,400 yen (or about $3,300) each.
“I didn’t think the price was too high as we have confidence in our brand, but I didn’t expect them to sell out so quickly,” a representative of Panasonic told the Sankei.
An additional 900 turntables will eventually be available for international sales.
Last year marked the 50th anniversary of the launch of the Technics brand. Since launching the SL-1200 in 1972, the company has shipped approximately 3.5 million units. With direct-drive motors for superior sound quality, the SL1200 became synonymous for reliability in the DJ community.
Decades later, however, sales started to slump along with the decrease in demand for vinyl records. In 2010, Panasonic discontinued the line due to “a decline in demand for analog products,” a Panasonic representative told The Tokyo Reporter.

Panasonic hat auf der in Las Vegas stattfindenden Audio-Messe CES jetzt die Katze aus dem Sack gelassen und endlich den neuen Technics Turntable vorgestellt. Den SL-1200G.
Das Dingen wird vermutlich im Sommer in zwei Varianten in die Läden kommen. Der Preis steht noch nicht fest. Gemessen daran aber, dass die letzen neuen 1210er mittlerweile einen Marktpreis von €2250,00 + X haben und Panasonic die Marke Technics eh eher für den High-End-Audio-Bereich wiederbelebt hat, dürfte das neue Modell eher nichts für den geneigten Bedroom-DJ werden. Aber schick sieht er allemal aus. Auch ganz weg von dem, was Panasonic noch im Jahr 2015 auf der Berliner IFA als kommendes Modell vorgestellt hatte.
„Two versions of the player will be released: a limited Technics 50th Anniversary ‚Grand Class SL-1200GAE‘ will come first, in summer 2016 (limited, naturally, to 1200 units). A non-limited Grand Class 1200G will follow before the end of 2016. Both will be expensive, audiophile-grade devices, even though they are still largely aimed at DJs. Prices were not announced but are expected to reach several thousand pounds.“
