In der Masai Mara in Kenia haben sie ein gepunktetes Zebrafohlen entdeckt. Grund dafür ist eine Melanin-Störung, die dafür sorgt, dass sich Ansätze der typischen Zebrastreifen nur an den Beinen finden lassen. Das Tira genannte Jungtier ist das erste bekannte gepunktete Zebra, das in der Region geboren wurde.

So richtig weiß man ja nie, was genau man bekommt, wenn man sich etwas zu essen bestellt, ob das dann aus der Mikrowelle kommt, halt auch nicht. YouTuber Josh Pieters hat das einfach mal zum Geschäftsmodell erklärt, ohne das seiner geneigten Kundschaft mitzuteilen. Die minimalen Auflagen für einen erfolgreichen Deliveroo-Account erfüllt und ist dann mit seiner Mikrowelle und und Fertiggerichten aus dem Supermarkt als Restaurant bei Deliveroo durchgestartet. Kurz zumindest.

In Ohio sind zwei junge Amische mit ihrer Kutsche in eine Polizeikontrolle geraten. Sie hatten offenbar ein paar Biere intus und außerdem ein für sie wohl ungewöhnliches Soundsystem in der Kutsche verbaut. Diese ließen sie samt Pferd zurück und schlugen sich in einen anliegenden Wald. Die Polizei musste dann erstmal das Pferd einfangen, so dass die jungen Männer entkommen konnten.
Zurück blieb auch ein 12er Pack Bier.
3 KommentareNachdem die Polizei das Pferd eingefangen hatte, habe sie gehofft, dass es sie zu den beiden Männern führen würde – erfolglos. Bislang habe auch niemand das bei einem nahegelegenen Bauern untergestellte Tier wieder abgeholt.
Polizist Dragovich mutmaßt, vielleicht haben die Mitglieder der Täufergemeinschaft Angst vor den Konsequenzen. Begossen stehen sie nun auf jeden Fall da – zumal in ihrer Gemeinschaft für Fehltritte teils drakonische Strafen verhängt werden.

Im richtigen Moment gesehen, dann wenn die Sonne durch die Decke der Phraya-Nakhon-Höhle in Thailand scheint, wirkt der Ort wie eine Kapelle von Natur. Wobei der dann erleuchtete Pavillon an sich natürlich nicht von der Natur gemacht, sondern von Menschenhand gebaut wurde. Dennoch wirken die Fotos von dort nahezu mystisch.
The Phraya Nakhon Cave is located inside Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park in the Prachuap Khiri Khan Province of Thailand. According to local legend, the cave was discovered around 200 years ago when a local ruler, Nakhon Srithammaraja, was forced to abandon his ship during a storm and found refuge in the cave. Some historians, however, believe the cave was discovered by, or at least named after, a nobleman called Nakhon, who lived in the region in the 17th century.
Either way, the cave has long been a treasured natural attraction along the northern part of the Malay Peninsula. When sunlight floods into the cavern, it illuminates the cave’s stalagmites and stalactites, and the lush green trees that lean toward the light from the sandy floor below. It’s a serene and mystical sight, and one deemed fit for kings.

On the summer solstice 2019 the extended Warp family came together with online radio station NTS to celebrate the label’s 30th anniversary. With over 100 hours of original music programming, the weekend-long communion featured mixes, documentaries, live performances, film and sessions from the whole Warp roster including Boards of Canada, Aphex Twin, Brian Eno, Flying Lotus, Danny Brown, Autechre and Kelela, plus a handful special guests including Death Grips and Ryuichi Sakamoto. Over the weekend, hundreds of thousands of music fans tuned in share in the celebration with the label, artists and each other via chat rooms, forums, social media and IRL playbacks in record shops, cafes and bars around the world.
Now, as the summer draws to a close, Warp continue the radio theme with the announcement of a special set of releases. WXAXRXP Sessions features ten specially selected sessions recorded for radio from across the history of the label, from Peel sessions in the very early days right up to the aforementioned WXAXRXP x NTS weekend. In the age of immediate, unelected, often low-quality rips of anything that is broadcast, these releases present each session in the highest quality, adorned in beautiful packaging designed by Michael Oswell, with photography by Synchrodogs.
