These singles, plus an exclusive new double A-side single for the mid-1990s-issued tracks „Free As A Bird“ and „Real Love,“ are newly cut for vinyl from their original mono and stereo master tapes by Sean Magee at Abbey Road Studios for a new limited edition boxed set. The Beatles: The Singles Collection presents 46 tracks on 23 180-gram seven-inch vinyl singles in faithfully reproduced international picture sleeves, accompanied by a 40-page booklet with photos, ephemera, and detailed essays by Beatles historian Kevin Howlett. The collectible set will be released worldwide on November 22 by Apple Corps Ltd./Capitol/UMe.

Der in Basel ansässige Thom Monn hat für Uwe ein Ambient-Set aufgenommen. Ich habe es die Tage locker 30 Mal gehört – und, um es kurz zu machen, das ist der beste Ambient-Mix, den ich in diesem Jahr bisher gehört habe. Wahnsinnig gut.

Kolt Siewerts, der mich vor Jahren mit einem seiner Sets in Thüringen mal komplett weggeschossen hat, hat sich Böhmermanns „Herz und Faust und Zwinkerzwinker“ genommen und ein Mal durch den D’n’B Wolf gedreht. Und wäre ich D’n’B DJ, würde ich mir das Dingen hier runterladen und übern Dance ballern. Ja.

Aufmerksame Leser wissen es: ich liebe das, was Sebastian Mullaert so macht, schon immer sehr. Aktuell hat er ein Live-Projekt nebst dazugehörigem Label aus der Taufe gehoben, für das verschiedenste Musiker live miteinander elektronisch musizieren: Circle of Live. Zusammen spielen sie dann Techno-Live-Jams. Konkreter bei XLR8R:
On stage, Circle members jam in different constellations; Muallert curates a different lineup for each performance. Mullaert himself, the one constant, begins with some ambient soundscapes, before inviting the other artists to begin interacting as they wish; it’s an unhinged, freeform experience, unhindered by formal structure so as to allow both the performers and audience to explore the boundaries of electronic music improvisation in its raw beauty. These recordings, which can exceed eight hours, are then reviewed, and segments—those which best capture the essence of the project—are released through the record label of the same name, offering a snapshot into the weird and wonderful world of collaborative live performance.
Beim diesjährigen Movement Detroit traf sich Mullaert mit Amp Fiddler, Mathew Jonson und Vril auf die Bühne zum Circle, wo sie gut zwei Stunden live spielten. Und das ist so ziemlich das Beste, was ich seit langem gehört habe. Wirklich großartig, gemessen daran, dass der Sound aus Improvisationen entsteht.

How the next four hours took form no one knows, but it was an amazing journey to be part of, and listening to the first two hours, that we are sharing with you now, brings back many warm smiles to my face. Ende September hatte David Scott aka The Kiffness dieses grandiose Mashup auf Twitter geladen, das die UN-Rede von Greta Thunberg mit Fatboy Slims Right Here, Right Now zusammenbrachte. Das Ding ging rum wie warme Semmeln. Zurecht auch.
Jetzt hat Fatboy Slim das Ding auf einer Live Show in Gateshead über den Dance geschossen. Und auch dort funktioniert es.
