Ganz verrückte Kiste, die Morgens Jacobsen da im Jahre 2004 zusammengebraten hat.

Und unabhängig davon, dass das Dingen wirklich kuhl aussieht, macht es noch verdammt verrückte Dinge.

TurntablistPC is a telematic hybrid of a turntable (gramophone) and an old personal computer.

TurntablistPC is a server which third-party websites can access. A small file is hosted on the TurntablistPC. Subscribing websites place a short piece of code on their pages. This code sends information to the TurntablistPC. When somebody visits one of the subscribing websites, the TurntablistPC spins the record.
Control is remote and hidden. But output – audio – is local only (through speakers in the TurntablistPC).

The location of the remote website controls the direction of the spin. If the website is located east of the TurntablistPC, it spins clockwise. If it is located west of the TurntablistPC, the spin is counterclockwise.

The distance to the visiting user determines the amount of spin. If you are near the TurntablistPC, you will only scratch the vinyl. If you are far away, it will play a whole section of the record.

Sehr schöner Midtempo-Mix von Arctic Balance, der ein wenig Wochenendstimmung aufkommen lässt. Und an dem kann man ruhig mal tanzen. Schließlich wurde das Wochenende als solches ja nur dazu erfunden, um mal gediegen tanzen gehen zu können. Ich war erst letztes WE, aber da könnt ihr ja nichts für.

Es ging um das Cover für das Album „Sticky Fingers“ und das Schreiben liegt im Andy Warhol Museum Pittsburgh. So ging das vor 40 Jahren. Sehr sympathisch.

Das ist hiermit ganz offiziell das erste Mashup-Album, was ich hier drin habe und ich denke, das wird so schnell auch nicht wieder vorkommen. Zusammengeschraubt hat es Colatron, von dem auch dieses grandiose MJ-Burial-Diana-Sabres of Paradise-Mashup stammt, dass ich hier heute hatte. Ich hatte mich da eben mal weiter geklickt und feststellen können, dass die Nummer aus dem Video Teil eines Albums ist, dass Colatron im Frühjahr diesen Jahres ins Netz pumpte.

Ich habe es ja nicht so wirklich mit diesem Mashup-Zeug. Keine Ahnung, warum dem so ist – ist halt so. Aber das hier ist so was von so was von großartig, dass ich bisschen zappelig werde. Ich meine, hier treffen Michael Jackson, Prinzessin Diana, Bloc Party, Burial und Sabres Of Paradise aufeinander. Knüller!

Abgefahrene Projekt-Idee, die Jori Hulkkonen da hatte: er suchte sich Musiker zusammen um mit denen gleichzeitig und syncron 10 TB-303s, eine TR-707 und eine TR-808 bedienen zu können, nannte das ganze Acid Symphony Orchestra und zieht mit diesem jetzt durch die Klubs.

Ja, der Sound klingt furchtbar nach den 90ern, was mit so 303s auch nicht schwer ist. Aber diese Idee finde ich ganz nett und das Video ist so was wie eine Ode an die TB-303.

Die Quasi-Soundcloud für DJ-Mixe, die wahrscheinlich keiner braucht, da eben mittlerweile auf Soundcloud unzählige Mixe landen. Aber immerhin ist es ein Versuch, Mixe, Podcasts und Radio miteinander zu verbinden. Bisher ist der dort zu findende Content noch übersichtlich und qualitativ überzeugt mich das auch noch nicht so ganz. Aber was nicht ist kann ja noch und so. Mehr in dem Video.

Sehr schön gemachtes Stop Motion-Time Lapse-Tilt Shift-Video, dass ein wenig den Eindruck einer Liebeserklärung macht. Eine Liebeserklärung an, klar, New York. Und der Soundtrack erst. „I drop acid.“ Das nenne ich einen Start in den Tag. Besser wird es heute nicht mehr.
