DIY: „Quarantäne-Billardtisch“

Rollie Williams war während seiner sozialen Isolation eine Woche lang damit beschäftigt, einen Quarantäne-Billardtisch für sich zu bauen. Und irgendwie funktioniert das Ding auch.

In this time of staying at home and not being able to go outside, it’s important to make the best of things. When that doesn’t work, it’s okay to make yourself a pool table. We made a DIY pool table out of a blanket, our kitchen table, some tape, clamps, rope, string, metal rods from a set of shelves I had in my room, and a set of billiard balls my dad gave me for Christmas a few years ago.

„Urban Isolation“ – Durch ein komplett leeres Los Angeles skaten

Wenn die Vermeidung sozialer Kontakte konsequent durchgezogen werden würde, könnten die Straßen aussehen wie in diesen Aufnahmen, die ein komplett auto- und menschenleeres Los Angeles zeigen, in dem nur einsame Skater unterwegs sind.

With quarantines and „shelter-in-place“ becoming the new normal, leave it to skateboarders to find the silver lining in this situation. Russell Houghten’s winning film entry for our 2014 REDirect project imagined a bizarro Los Angeles where traffic and pedestrians were non-existent; his eerily prescient ‚Urban Isolation‘ is a must-watch while you are cooped up this week. Please stay safe and healthy, and we hope to see you on the streets again soon!

Sonntagsmusik: Mogreens at 33c3 Section9

Kollege Mogreens hat auf dem 33c3 dieses wunderbar zum Sonntag passende Set gespielt, zu dem man nicht weniger wunderbar so einfach mal gar nichts tun kann. Aufm Sofa bleiben. Höchstens. Sonntag halt.
