Ambient in seinen schönsten Formen. Wie immer bei Zuurb.

Sonntagnachtmusik: Hello strange podcast #225 – Klein

Ich habe hier heute nicht viel gemacht. Gekocht, Doku-Serien geguckt, rumgehangen, Sonntag gemacht halt. Währenddessen lief ungefähr 18 Mal dieser Mix: Klein – Hello strange podcast #225. Ambienttechno at its best.

Klein has been rooted in the underground scene since the early age. He was born and raised in the place with mountains that are arc shaped named QwaQwa in the Eastern Free State, South Africa.

He is an artist and founder of the Deepinit Podcast. Started DJing in the year 2013. His music is inspired by the art of deep, ambient and dub sounds, the music produced by artists like Heavenchord, Twin Peetz to name a few.“

Tereza pres. Baduology – An Ode To Erykah Badu

„Baduizm was designed to get you high – just by listening to the music!“

Happy Birthday, Erykah Badu – over 25 years in the business and still State of the Art, uncompromising, fearless, constantly evolving and truly inspiring to whole generations of musicians.

BADUOLOGY is my personal ode to the ‚analogue girl in the digital world‘ in celebration of the 20th anniversary of her debut album ‚Baduizm‘ which is still one of my all-time-favorite LPs. It features some of Queen E’s most significant work from the past two decades, alongside songs sampled on Badu records as well as unique skits and blends, all edited and mixed by myself.

Bonobo @ Mixmag Live 2017

Since the turn of the millennium, Simon Green has been crafting a breathtaking discography, marking him out as one of electronic music’s most remarkable talents. Across six studio albums he’s shown a flair for producing sounds that are both steeped in emotional resonance and able to energise a dancefloor. Whether he’s alone at the controls or conducting orchestral arrangements, Green instils a depth of feeling into his tracks that always hits the spot.

His most recent Bonobo album, ‘The North Borders’, was a worldwide sensation, topping electronic charts across each side of the Atlantic, and sparking a tour which cut a path through four continents and 30 countries. An estimated two million people saw the 12-piece Bonobo band in action, with audiences left stunned in their globe-trotting wake.

Now Bonobo’s seventh album ‘Migration’ is on the horizon, scheduled for release through the label he’s made home, Ninja Tune, on January 13. As the title suggests, the record draws upon international influences, exploring themes of humanity and spatially defined identity within characteristically stirring tracks.
A residency at renowned New York club Output and numerous Outlier dates in many more of the world’s finest venues has also provided the opportunity to road test the tracks and ensure their dancefloor impact. Green’s DJ sets draw upon this wealth of back catalogue gold, as well as the variety of spellbinding records he’s collected over the years, to form moving musical trips.

Slumber Session: Klasey Jones

Following 2015’s stellar debut album ‘Changes’, Apollo Recordings is proud to present a collection of Synkro’s formative early works.

Originally released on scene stalwart labels such as Smokin’ Sessions, Blackout, Box Clever, Med School and Exit Records, these tracks displays the music that forged his career tracking his progression up to signing to Apollo.

Despite having come up during the dubstep era McBride’s music has always resisted easy classification – winding together such diverse influences as Boards Of Canada, dBridge, Burial and Oneohtrix Point Never, whilst still remaining utterly unique.

The trademark warm sonics, and emotive melodies that were ever-present in ‘Changes’ are in strong evidence here – lush pads, ambient/balearic washes and soulful vocals, underpinned by a skeleton of tough, crisp beats. What is most surprising and captivating about these early works is just how consistent McBride’s sonic vision remains – melancholic, cinematic, soothing yet vital – his is a strong and truly unique voice nearly a decade into his career.

Berliner Techno like 90’s und Neueres.

In the late 1993, mysterious records of mind bending electronic echoes, in length and structures, started to emerge from Berlin. Plain sleeved records with enigmatic graphics pressed in Detroit, but made in Germany by two guys from Berlin who weren’t so keen about showcasing their physique, but rather focused on the music. Basic channel and Moritz von Oswald took techno music to a degree in a variety of shapes that encompassed dub, ambient, downtempo, techno and basically crafted minimal techno de facto. Mr. von Oswald aimed towards face eating repetition and stretching the groove into a place that opened a rich and vast new territory in music for the dance floor and sound textures that were and still are unique.

It’s like Lee Perry would stretch his legs in warm bath with nothing but sequencers and TB 303 for company. Using the mixing board as a tool like his Jamaican nemesis, von Oswald swiftly emerged as the quintessential post-modern artist : collaboration were spawned with Juan Atkins, Carl Craig, Nills Petter Molvaer and so on. The holy grail of techno music. Pure class, heavenly remixes and blissful dubby basslines.
