Ich hab‘ hier gerade mich emotional sehr beanspruchende Tage und habe mich wohl auch deshalb die letzten Tage in dem Sound vom immer großartigen LoFi-Girl eingekuschelt. In der Hoffnung, dass der es alles ein bisschen besser macht. Weil meistens klappt das irgendwie. Hoffentlich.
Später bin ich irgendwie auf einem 12 Stunden langen Loop gelandet, der nichts geringeres als Meeresrauschen spielt. Mir war nicht bewusst, dass ich den dann angemacht habe, aber dachte nach vier Stunden, dass es schon irgendwie komisch ist, dass LoFi-Girl heute irgendwie so klang, als würde ich es am Strand hören. Es lief halt beides, ohne das ich dafür gesorgt hätte. Und irgendwie hat das in der Summe dann alles kurz ein bisschen besser gemacht. Aber wird schon wieder. Hoffentlich. Wurde es irgendwie ja immer.
Und jetzt klickt halt auf beide Video gleichzeitig (mobil halt doof, aber die meisten von euch lesen den Bums hier eh am Rechner, da geht das), um zu wissen, was ich meine. Oder macht’s halt nicht. Was weiß ich denn.

Ich weiß jetzt nicht, was ich erwartet habe, zu sehen, der Gedanke daran erschien mir irgendwie spannender, als das Gesehene, faszinierend ist es auf irgendeine Weise dennoch. Besonders der Sound.

VOICE ABOVE WATER is the story of a 90-year-old Balinese fisherman who can no longer fish because of the amount of plastic pollution in the ocean, instead he collects trash in hopes of being able to fish again. The story is a glimpse into how one human is using his resources to make a difference and a reminder that if we all play our part we can accomplish something much greater than ourselves.

Der Meeresbiologe Alexander Semenov hat im Weißmeer, einem Nebenmeer des Arktischen Ozeans im Norden des europäischen Teils Russlands, Ruderschnecken (Clione limacina) filmen können, die ein bisschen wie kleine Engel aussehen und ganz schön bunt sind.

The sperm whale is the largest toothed predator on Earth and perhaps the most gentle of all the whales we have had the pleasure of spending time with. @mitty is beautifully positioned to capture a peaceful moment of a sleeping mother. Able to dive to depths of over 6,000 feet, they are the second deepest diving animals on the planet. They travel to these unfathomable, perpetually inky depths to feed on squid. A lot of the whales we are encountering still have squid tentacles hanging out of their mouths as you can see here. After continuously diving to such extreme depths, the whales then park themselves vertically in the water column and go to sleep. What a privilege it is to have a tiny glimpse into the complex lives of these gentle giants.
