Ich weiß nicht, ob das didaktisch Sinn macht, kann mir das aber durchaus vorstellen. Schöne Idee, die Xiao Xiao und Hiroshi Ishi von Andante da hatten. Hier als PDF zum Kern.

Hängemattensoundtrack: Zuurb – Amalthea (Mixtape)

Es ist sonnig, es ist warm, Zeit die Hängematte zwischen die Bäume zu hängen und sich dem gepflegten Nichtstun hinzugeben. Da passt es perfekt, dass Ambient-Spezialist Zuurb genau heute seinen neuen Mix in die Cloud geschoben hat, der genau dazu einlädt nichts zu tun, hinzuhören, zu träumen. Mich hat er gerade akustisch beim Waffeln backen unterstützt und das reicht dann für heute auch mit dem Tun. Ich steig in die Hängematte und höre Musik. Diese Musik.

Low Light Mixes – Piano Moments

Eigentlich ein Mix, der ein Wochenende abschließen sollte, aber dennoch an einem kühlen Montagabend funktioniert. Bei gedämpften Licht, einem Glas Wein (hier ist es Tee), hochgelegten Füßen und einer Stimmung, die gerade keine großartige Lust auf Stress verspürt.

Dave von Low Light Mixes hat anlässlich des letzten Piano Days mal wieder einige Perlen der Klaviermusik aneinandergereiht – und das klingt wunderschön.

Nils Frahm verschenkt 4-Track-EP

Ich bin zurück von der See und muss mich nach dem Kochen hier noch ein bisschen einfuchsen, dann geht das hier alles wieder seinen gewohnten Gang. Zum Kochen aber braucht es bei mir immer Musik – gerne vom Klavier. Und da trifft es sich bestens, dass unser aller Libelingsklavierspieler Nils Frahm vor ein paar Tagen eine neue EP von sich ins Netz geschoben hat „Solo Remains„. Aufgenommen am größten Klavier der Welt.

Solo Remains are previously unreleased tracks from Nils Frahm’s album Solo, which was recorded on the M370, the world’s largest piano, built by the visionary piano maker David Klavins in 1987.

Nils fell in love with the sound of this giant and joined David for the new project – building an even higher piano – the Model 450. The aim of it is to explore the not yet reached physical limits of the piano instrument and also to push forward into new musical dimensions. The M450 will be characterized by an even clearer sound with more depth and richness of overtones as well as an unrivaled frequency spectrum and intensity of sound and tone. In time for the 2nd anniversary of Piano Day, Nils decided to give four previously unreleased songs from that very session to his fans and supporters of the Klavins 450 project.

95-jähriger, demenzkranker Jazz-Pianist spielt nochmal in einer Band

Edward Hardy hat sein Leben lang Jazz am Piano gespielt. Jetzt kam er auch aufgrund seiner Demenz in ein Pflegeheim. Seine 91-jährige Frau Betty wurde nach 75 Jahren von ihm getrennt, was ihn schmerzt. Sein größter Wunsch: nochmal in einer Jazz-Kombo am Klavier sitzen, eine Band haben.

Ein Mitarbeiter des Heims platzierte deshalb eine Anzeige, die darum warb, Musiker für Edward zu finden. Daraufhin meldeten sich 80, die mit ihm spielen wollten. Vier davon taten dann genau das und jamten mit ihm. Nun mag er mehr davon.

Musicians have come forward to jam with a 95-year-old pianist after a nationwide appeal was made on Gumtree to find him some new bandmates. The festive wish was granted for ex jazz player, Edward Hardy, when more than 80 musicians from across the UK replied to the heart-warming advert. Amazingly, despite now suffering from dementia, the talented war veteran has still retained his piano playing abilities. The pensioner wanted to start a new band because he felt so lonely after being separated from his wife for 75 years, Betty, 91, due to moving into a care home in Wookey, Somerset.
