Einen Kommentar hinterlassenIm Jahr 2015 tauchte auf YouTube dieses Video eines Rotgesichtsmakaken auf, der zu Aphex Twins „Stone In Focus“ in heißem Wasser chillt. Ich habe gerade mal geguckt und bin doch etwas irritiert, das hier nie verbloggt zu haben. Weil popkulturell halt schon von Relevanz, wie ich finde. Das Ding hat 6,5 Millionen Plays.
Vor zwei Jahren dachte sich magnus, dass man das mit mehreren Rotgesichtsmakaken in jetzt doch besserer Qualität auch ruhig mal neu auflegen könnte und hat das mal gemacht. Das Ergebnis nimmt mich mit. Ich lieb’s. Aphex Twin spielt 10 Minuten lang drei Akkorde und kann dir damit einfach dein Leben retten.

Not sure if it was the human characteristics of the monkey or just how the video made me feel. Anyways for the 5 year anniversary of it, I decided to remake it with different clips in higher quality. The result is a video not nearly good as the original, but a homage nevertheless. Enjoy.

Die Colorado-Kröte ist eine von ihnen, sie kommt im Norden Mexikos und im Südwesten der Vereinigten Staaten vor und offenbar gibt es nicht wenige Experimentierfreudige, die der Kröte einfach mal am Rücken lecken, um sich auf eine dieser ganz speziellen Reisen zu begeben. Das hat den National Park Service nun dazu veranlasst, auf Facebook davor zu warnen, an den Kröten zu lecken.

Hey there! Here is the “ribbiting” late night content no one asked for. Yet here we are. The Sonoran desert toad (Bufo alvarius), also known as the Colorado river toad, is one of the largest toads found in North America, measuring nearly 7 inches (18 cm).
What sound does it make? Its call has been described as a “weak, low-pitched toot, lasting less than a second.” Was that the toad or did something startle you?
These toads have prominent parotoid glands that secrete a potent toxin. It can make you sick if you handle the frog or get the poison in your mouth. As we say with most things you come across in a national park, whether it be a banana slug, unfamiliar mushroom, or a large toad with glowing eyes in the dead of night, please refrain from licking.
