Ein Selfie-Arm, der suggeriert, nicht allein zu sein

Die Sache mit den Selfie-Sticks dürfte hiermit dann fast durch sein. Aric Snee und Justin Crowe nämlich haben jetzt einen entwickelt, der einem Arm ähnelt und bei Benutzung suggeriert, dass es sich gar nicht wirklich um ein Selfie handeln würde, sondern dass das erstandene Foto von einem Freund gemacht wurde, dem man die Hand reicht. Man könnte es wohl auch den „Forever alone“-Selfie Stick nennen.

Eine Kamera mit rotierender Linse: Revolvograph

Oscar Lhermitte hat eine Kamera mit rotierender Linse entwickelt. Die dreht sich mit 1800 Umdrehungen pro Minute und zeichnet dabei natürlich Kreise und Muster auf, was gleich mal zur Erstellung dieses Musikvideos zum Einsatz kam. Wie betrunken in Höchstgeschwindigkeit. Nur hübscher. Oder so.

The revolvograph consists of the combination of a high speed rotating motor with a digital camera connected to it. The motor is spinning at 30 rotations per second (1800 rpm) while at the same time the camera is recording 30 frames per second. In other words, for every frame of the video being captured, the camera is doing a full revolution. The effects created are abstract moving patterns of colours in concentric circles.
The lens can be mounted at the center of the shaft to create concentric circles, or perpendicular to it to create horizontal patterns.

Ein riesiger Katzenkopf aus Wolle als Maske

Housetu Sato und Studenten der Japan School of Wool Art haben diesen riesigen Katzenkopf aus Wolle kreiert, den man sich als Maske über den Kopf ziehen kann, so denn man möchte. Ich finde das jetzt so abwegig nicht, laufen doch auch Menschen mit Pferde- oder gar Einhornmasken auf dem Kopf durch die Welt. Mehr Fotos von dem Ding auf der Facebook-Seite von Housetu Sato.

Ein nicht genehmigtes Snowden-Denkmal in einem Park in New York

Ein anonymes Künstler-Kollektiv hat letzte Nach in einem Park in Brooklyn eine Büste von Edward Snwoden enthüllt. Animal NY war dabei.

While most people slept, a trio of artists and some helpers installed a bust of NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden in Brooklyn on Monday morning. The group, which allowed ANIMAL to exclusively document the installation on the condition that we hide their identities, hauled the 100-pound sculpture into Fort Greene Park and up its hilly terrain just before dawn. They fused it to part of the Prison Ship Martyrs Monument, a memorial to Revolutionary War soldiers. As of press time, the sculpture was still there.

Mittlerweile wurde die Statue erst verhüllt und wenig später wieder abgebaut. Ein Snowden-Denkmal in einem Park New Yorks mag man dort wohl nicht so gerne stehen haben.
