E-Lastenrad, Boot und Camper in einem

Wer mit seinem Lastenrad auch zur Zeit See fahrend verreisen möchte, kann das zukünftig mit diesem Vehikel hier tun. Die Präsi ist ein bisschen drüber, aber das Gefährt an sich jetzt gar nicht mal uninteressant, aber (natürlich) nicht ganz billig. Das Set zum Selberbauen ist ab 4.500 Euro vorbestellbar, komplett montiert dann ab 14.500 Euro.

Zeitraffer: großes Boot aus dem 3D-Drucker

Das Video ist schon etwas älter, deshalb aber nicht weniger interessant. Einer der damals wohl größten 3-Drucker druckt das wohl größte Boot, das bis damals auf diese Weise gefertigt wurde.

Ein Boot in Form eines Reisverschlusses „öffnet“ einen Fluss in Tokio: Opening the River

Der japanische Bildhauer und Installationskünstler Yasuhiro Suzuki hat dieses 9 Meter lange Boot in Form eines Reisverschlusses geschaffen, um den Sumida River in Tokio zu „öffnen“. Mega!

Suzuki—who is known for drawing inspiration from everyday objects—first got the idea for the unusual ship design when looking down on Tokyo Bay from an airplane window. He observed ships zipping across the water below, and thought about how they looked as though they were splitting apart the water (just like a zipper splits apart a jacket). He decided to take his vision further by creating a 9-meter-long ship in the shape of a jacket zipper.

Featuring a chrome-colored body, bridge, and puller (the three parts that make up a real zip), the Zip-Fastener Ship looks just like its tiny counterpart. The Sumida River was traditionally the border between the ancient provinces of Musashi and Shimousa, so the zipper ship is a visual reminder of the divide.

Angetrunkener Käpt’n fährt sein 6000-Tonnen-Schiff in eine koreanische Brücke

Was so passiert, wenn du halbbesoffen einen 6000-Tonnen-Kollos unter deinem Hintern zu manövrieren hast und es auf einigen Ebenen ziemlich dolle verkackst. So wie dieser russische Käpt’n hier, der seinen Dampfer mal eben in eine vielbefahrene Brücke in Busan, Südkorea, gesteuert hat. Es gab keine Verletzten. Die Kapitänslizenz dürfte wohl trotzdem erst mal weg sein.

The Korea Coast Guard (KCG) said the 5,998-ton Seagrand sailed into the side of the Gwangan Bridge at around 4:20 p.m. before turning back to head in the opposite direction. … The KCG nabbed the vessel and questioned the crew aboard. It said the ship’s Russian captain, whose identity is being withheld, had a blood alcohol content of 0.086 percent. The legal limit is 0.03 percent.

Shannon, ein modernes Allwetter-Rettungsboot

Bei der britischen Seenotrettungsorganisation Royal National Lifeboat Institution haben sie mit Shannon ein Allwetter-Rettungsboot entwickelt und gebaut, das nicht von Propellern sondern von Wasserjets angetrieben wird und auch sonst auf dem modernsten Stand der Seenotrettungstechnik ist. Das Dingen kann so einiges ab, ist außergewöhnlich wendig und dreht sich im Falle dessen auch von selber, wenn es mal auf dem Kopf stehen sollte. Krasses Teil.

Amphibienwohnmobil

So ein Boot, auf dem man mit 2-3 Leuten pennen kann, ist einem Wohnmobil nicht unähnlich. Leider ist beides nicht unbedingt preiswert, weshalb man sich schon mal für eines der beiden Reisebegleiter entscheiden muss. So nicht bei Familie Giljam, die sich ein Wohnmobil entwickelt haben, dass auch gleichzeitig schwimmen kann. Gut, das ist jetzt ganz sicher nicht billiger als Boot und WoMo, aber darum sollte es in diesem Fall offenbar auch nicht gehen.
