Chernobyl: The Last Lament

Der 23-jährige Nachwuchsfilmemacher Jan schreibt mir:

Im Juni 2014 hatte ich die einmalige Chance in die Sperrzone um Tschernobyl zu reisen, um dort eine 10 minütige Kurzdokumentation zu drehen. Neben pittoresken Orten innerhalb der Sperrzone, interviewte ich auch zwei Rücksiedlerfrauen, die ihre ganz persönlichen Erinnerungen an den 26. April 1986 teilen. Letzten Sonntag veröffentlichte ich die Arthaus-Dokumentation anlässlich des 29. Jahrestages im Internet.

Und das ist durchaus sehenswert.

Berlin Walk

Vitùc war schon war zwei Jahren für zwei Tage in Berlin unterwegs und hat der Hauptstadt ein sowohl entschleunigtes als auch sehr schönes Portrait mit seiner Kamera gezeichnet. Außerdem hat er mit Reid Willis‘ „April Illuminating“ exorbitant guten Sound dazu ausgewählt.

Reflections from Uyuni

Wunderschöner Timelapse-Film von Enrique Pacheco, der mit seiner Kamera die größte Salzpfanne der Erde in Szene setzte.

Reflections from Uyuni is a Time-lapse short film that shows the intrinsic beauty of the sea salt of Uyuni and the province of Potosí in Bolivia.
The reflections produced by the water flooding in the rainy season, are the main protagonist Enrique Pacheco´s camera, who invites us to dream with impossible images from another world, where the sky meets the earth forming an infinite mirage.
The sea salt of Uyuni with over 10,000km2 is the largest in the world. It is located in the province of Potosi, Bolivia, near the Andes, at an altitude of 3.656m.
The Salar of Uyuni serves as a transport route through the Altiplano of Bolivia, but tourism has an increasingly more important role in the area.

Kurt Cobain Album für den Sommer angekündigt

In einem Interview, das Brett Morgen über seine Kurt Cobain Doku „Montage of Heck“ gegeben hat, hat er verlautbaren lassen, dass es in diesem Sommer ein Album mit Home-Recordings von Kurt Cobain geben wird. Das klingt ziemlich interessant, finde ich.

Asked if there were any still-unreleased “gems” from the Cobain archives, Morgen said: “We’re going to be putting out an amazing album this summer that I think will answer that question,” explaining that an album of home recordings “will feel like you’re kind of hanging out with Kurt Cobain on a hot summer day in Olympia, Washington as he fiddles about. It’s going to really surprise people.”

He continues: “Just to be clear, it’s not a Nirvana album, it’s just Kurt and you’re going to hear him do things you never expected to come out of him.

Ben E. King – Stand By Me

Aus gegebenem Anlass.

„Nachgeborenen Generationen ist das Stück vor allem als Titelsong des Kinofilms „Stand by Me – Das Geheimnis eines Sommers“ aus dem Jahr 1986 ans Herz gewachsen. King hatte den Song ursprünglich für eine andere Band geschrieben, spielte ihn dann aber doch selbst ein.“

Vor ganz langer Zeit hat mich sein „Stand by me“ durch den ein oder anderen Liebeskummer begleitet. Später waren das andere Lieder, aber dieses eine hat sich einen Platz in meinem Herzchen auf immer reserviert.
